Local 001 is the largest of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees Locals and is comprised of approximately 7,800 administrative and support staff who are direct employees of the Government of Alberta. Our members are in every ministry throughout Alberta and provide quality administrative services on a daily basis. We work in all areas of the province, from ranger stations in Rainbow Lake to a museum in Cardston.
We strive to keep the paper flowing, the phones answered, the documents copied and filed, the land titles and court documents processed and the internal government mail circulated. We take great pride in the tasks we accomplish everyday – and we learn and grow through the many transition phases that the government continues to go through.
Local 001 is comprised of 20 Chapters, ranging from High Level to Pincher Creek. This site will provide our members with current information on issues in the workplace as well as providing quick links for all AUPE members to locate resources (i.e. Corporate Human Resources, AUPE, worksite contacts, stewards, etc.).
